Beam smoke detectors for large open spaces
A beam detector projects a light path across a space and looks for the obscuration that smoke produces in that path. One device covers a long, wide area, which is why beam detection is the standard answer for spaces where ceiling mounted spot detectors would be impractical to install, service or reach: atriums, warehouses and distribution centers, gymnasiums, churches and auditoriums, hangars, and historic buildings where devices on the ceiling are unacceptable.
This line covers conventional and intelligent reflective beam smoke detectors supplied with their reflectors, replacement prisms, open area imaging detectors with their emitters in standard and high power versions, environmental housings for emitters and imagers, controller back boxes, cabling, heater kits, long range reflective kits, standard surface mount kits and heavy duty multi-mount kits.
Choose by range and by structure. Confirm the separation between the transmitter or imager and the reflector or emitter is inside the listed range for the model, including any long range kit, and confirm the ceiling or wall you are mounting to is rigid enough that building movement will not drift the alignment, which is the most common cause of trouble signals on these systems.
