Fire alarm control panels
The control panel is the brain of the system. It supervises every initiating device circuit, drives the notification appliance circuits, manages releasing and auxiliary functions, and transmits alarm, supervisory and trouble signals off site. Everything else in the system is chosen to work with it, which is why the panel decision comes first and constrains every part that follows.
The panels stocked here cover both ends of commercial work: conventional units that report by zone, suited to smaller buildings where a zone map on the wall is enough to find the device in alarm, and addressable smart loop panels with LCD display and integral power supply, where every device reports individually and the panel names the exact point. Enclosure color options are available on the addressable line.
Choosing comes down to four questions. How many points does the system need to support, now and after the building's next fit-out? Is the job conventional or addressable? Does the building need voice evacuation, or are horns and strobes enough? And does the panel have to interface with releasing, elevator recall, door holders, HVAC shutdown or a network of other panels? The approved submittal drawings govern the final configuration.
For service work on a panel already in the building, the replacement boards, loop cards and power supply boards are listed under circuit boards and cards, and the loop modules under modules and relays. Match the part number printed on the installed board rather than the panel model, since panel generations that look alike often use different boards.
