Waterflow switches and valve supervisory switches
These are the devices that let a fire alarm panel see what the sprinkler system is doing. A waterflow switch tells the panel that water is moving, which is what generates the alarm and usually the bell and the central station signal. A supervisory switch tells the panel that something about the system has been put in an abnormal condition, most often a valve that has been closed, and that signal is trouble or supervisory rather than alarm.

Choose by starting from the pipe. Match the nominal pipe size and the pipe schedule exactly, because the vane and the saddle are sized to the pipe and the mounting hole. Then confirm the contact arrangement you need, single or dual, since a second set of contacts is often what feeds a separate local device or a building system.
