Fiplex by Honeywell public safety BDA and DAS equipment
This line covers in-building emergency responder radio coverage, the systems that keep fire and police portables working inside structures where the outdoor signal does not reach. The catalog includes bi-directional amplifiers for 700 MHz and 800 MHz public safety bands, dual band units that include Band 14, Class A and Class B configurations, fiber DAS masters and remotes, all-in-one integrated units that combine amplifier, battery backup and annunciator in one enclosure, standalone battery backup units, external annunciators, antennas and coaxial hardware.
These systems are driven by the authority having jurisdiction rather than by the building owner. Before specifying anything, get the frequency bands the local fire and police agencies operate on, confirm whether the AHJ requires Band 14 or FirstNet support, and get the grid test results that establish how much gain the building actually needs. Those three answers determine the band configuration, the class, and the power level.
From there, decide between a self-contained amplifier and a fiber-fed distributed system, which depends on building size, riser geometry and how many remote locations need coverage. Battery backup capacity and annunciator requirements are set by code and by the AHJ. Band coverage, class, gain, power output and listing information, including UL 2524 edition, are noted on each product page.
