Fireray beam detector parts

Fireray makes optical beam smoke detectors, the detection method used to protect large open volumes where mounting and servicing spot detectors on the ceiling is impractical. A beam detector projects an infrared beam across the space to a reflector and watches for the obscuration that smoke causes as it rises and spreads at ceiling level. One beam can cover a long, wide area, which is why this method is standard in warehouses, distribution centers, atriums, sports halls, aircraft hangars, theaters, churches and historic buildings.

This section currently carries accessory and replacement parts for Fireray installations rather than complete detector heads. Controller back boxes and similar components support systems already in the field.

When servicing a beam system, the part number on the installed controller or head is what matters, since mounting patterns and terminal arrangements differ between Fireray generations. For new beam detection design, the critical variables are the distance from transmitter to reflector, ceiling height, the stability of the mounting surfaces at both ends, and the access available for the annual sensitivity test. Beams mounted on structures that move under thermal or wind load will drift out of alignment and generate trouble signals, which is why motorized self-aligning models exist.

If the part needed for an existing Fireray system is not listed here, contact us with the model and the marking on the installed unit.
