Fire alarm power supplies and NAC boosters

A fire alarm panel only has so much notification appliance circuit power on board. Once the horn strobe load on a floor exceeds what the panel can drive, or once voltage drop over a long run pushes the far-end device below its operating range, the job needs a remote power supply. These units take building power, supply their own supervised battery backup, and drive additional notification appliance circuits under the panel's control.

This section covers remote power supplies and NAC booster panels in 12 and 24 volt versions, at a range of current ratings, in both chassis-mount boards for installation inside an existing cabinet and standalone units in their own red or black enclosure, including 120 VAC and 240 VAC input versions.

Sizing is a calculation, not a guess. Total the standby current and the alarm current of everything the supply will drive, apply the voltage drop over the actual wire run and gauge, and size the supply above the alarm load with headroom for future devices. Then size the batteries for the standby and alarm durations the code requires for that occupancy. Confirm how the supply is triggered and how its trouble contacts report back to the panel, since an unsupervised booster will fail inspection. Current ratings, input voltage and listing details are on each product page.
