Notifier FW-RM SWIFT Wireless Module

The Notifier FW-RM is a SWIFT wireless addressable relay module for Notifier ONYX series panels. It lets the panel switch an isolated set of Form C contacts (SPDT) by command to operate functions such as a remote power supply (with a monitor module), elevator recall, door holders or fan shutdown, for wired or SWIFT devices in the same mesh network.

SWIFT wireless modules communicate with the fire alarm control panel over a Class A mesh network through a gateway, and the panel treats them like any other addressable device. They are useful where wiring would be costly (concrete walls, buried wire), obtrusive (surface conduit) or hazardous (asbestos), and wired and wireless devices can share the same panel.

Compatibility

Compatible panels: N16 INSPIRE Series (UL applications), NFS2-3030, NFS2-640, NFS-320/C, NFS-320SYS/C, NFW-100X (UL applications), NFW-50X (UL applications). Refer to panel documentation for UL/ULC compatibility. Install in an SMB500-WH box rather than a metal backbox for best performance. The source also notes that SWIFT monitor modules accept contact devices (pull stations, waterflow switches, security contacts) with a non-latching input, and must be within 3 ft of the monitored device with field wiring or 20 ft in non-metallic conduit.
