Product details
The System Sensor PIBV2 is a supervisory switch that monitors whether a post indicator valve or butterfly valve is in the open position. A closed sprinkler control valve gives no warning on its own, so this switch reports any change in valve position to the fire alarm system.
It mounts with a 1/2" NPT nipple. The bi-directional actuator works with rising or falling flag installations and can be broken away to fit shorter valves without cutting the shaft.
Key features
- Two synchronized SPDT (Form C) switches
- Trips within two revolutions of the valve control, or before the flag travels one fifth of its range
- Die-cast housing UL listed for indoor or outdoor use
- NEMA 3R when installed with the actuator vertical
- Single-side 1/2" conduit entrance
Ordering note
The PIBV2A is the ULC version and comes with the cover tamper switch installed. On this UL model, the cover tamper switch is available separately as the 546-7000 kit. The PIBV2 supervises valve position only and does not detect waterflow.
